Gameplay:

This game is about exploration and choices. Although there is an ending, the game itself is aimed more at giving the player a chance to explore the world, communicate with their fellow demigods, and choose their own path.

Exclamations:

Any character with a quest for you to do will have an exclamation mark over their heads. The colour of the exclamation mark will depend on which character the quest pertains to. If it is a side quest, it will be a green exclamation. If it is a quest from or pertaining to one of the seven, the exclamation marks will be the colour of the character who gave you the quest. (i.e. Leo's quest would have a red exclamation, as would any character with a quest item for his quest.)

Characters with white exclamation marks over their heads simply have something of note to say. If there is a white exclamation mark over an object, you can interact with it. (There are some secret things scattered around the world for you to interact with, these will not have exclamations at all.)

Banks and vaults:

DemiSim has a universal banking system- which means, if you put money in your bank at Camp Half-Blood, you will find the same amount in your bank at Camp Jupiter. Your character will not be allowed to carry more than 1000 dracmae on them at one time, so the bank system will come in handy for saving up.

There are various storage vaults around the world. Your main vault will be accessible in both camps- most notably the bank in New Rome and the camp store at Camp Half-Blood. But there are smaller vaults that you can access at various points in the game. These vaults can only by accessed in one place.

Crafting:

There is a crafting system in the game, which allows you to craft weapons, armors, food items, and other goodies. The crafting stations can be found in both camps (as well as some other locations in the game) Forges allow the player to smelt metals they have mined. Slabs (often found near forges) allow players to smith weapons, armors and tools. Campfires and stoves can be used to craft food items. And brewing stations can be used to brew potions. As you craft more, you will earn crafting XP, which will unlock new recipes.

Friendships:

Throughout DemiSim, you will have a chance to earn friendship points with various characters. You can do this by completing their quests. Once they have no more quests for you to do, you can still earn points with them by talking to them or giving them gifts. Conversations can go wrong, and sometimes lead to losing a small amount of points. Give characters gifts they're bound to enjoy. And you may want to avoid giving flowers to someone unless you're romantically involved with them. . . that can lead to some awkwardness. Being good friends with certain characters might just have some added benefits.

Quest Log:

In the menu, you can access the quest log- a comprehensive list of all of your quests throughout the game. Use the left and right arrow keys while on this screen to organize the list based on quests you have or have not completed. Select a quest to view your next objective or the rewards for that quest.

Dmail:

From the beginning of the game, you have access to a digital device developed by Hephaestus, and improved upon by Iris- which allows you to receive magical mail. You can check it at anytime, through the menu. Many of these messages will be inviting you to go talk to an NPC for a possible quest. Others will have gifts attached to them- you won't be able to delete these messages until you've opened the attachment.

Note: Quest NPCs that send you mail will only trigger if you actually read their message. This means you have to click on the message itself, rather than simply hovering over it in your inbox. You'll know the message was marked as read when it turns from purple to white.
